how does steadfast happen
if it is not reoccurring?
how thorough a presence
to not be time bound by interjections?
frame upon reframe,
beyond the collapse of conclusions
that were held with attention’s firmest grip,
but beyond that, still steadfast.
rock and forest are not that steadfast
in the creep of it all.
how steadfast, as a human, can one be
and ever come to know of the truth of it,
beyond the flex and
the yawn,
not by measures of a multitude of blinks,
nor the capture of repeated deeply intentional prayer.
it is that steadfast,
that seeks no evidence of proof,
that bares no observational show.
even to be in the know there of
is only the trust in steadfast
but not the real.
maybe soul will reluctantly acknowledge
if the appeal of self is in ardor and plea.
will therefore time cease its cadence?
and steadfast, so clandestinely undisclosed
will not ever come to be revealed,
but we will then, be . . .
