our hiding, from ourselves
provides for others’ hiding
to be somewhere within our hiding
not that either of us are hiding the same thing
or even similar things
from ourselves or others
but the hiding is like a shadow
and within that shadow
or the shadow within the shadow
lives the unknown
as if it was unknowable,
even to oneself,
it would seem
but there have been occasions
when quite by accident
that which is and was unknown
inadvertently appeared
as if a stranger of oneself
had walked into the cognition room
and proceeded to act out
as if it was us
but an apparently foreign us
somewhat unrecognized initially
but still deeply connect anyhow.
we all have those experiences
and wonder
where the hell did that come from
‘I didn’t know that was in the movie of me!’
it is as odd as some of the dreams that come
so much seems hidden
without a life plan for exposure
‘I don’t want to be a custodian of the dark’
those that came before me
all worked in their minds
harbored secrets, woven into forgotten
lived the life of hallow facials
clutched candles of belief for the light
not to realize the flame of their selves
burning in earnest
but still hiding from that truth . . .
