the oral history of the future
has yet to be sung
as the chorus of the day
but the lyrics exist,
heart strung, readied to be played
the melody will be made of familiar context
in willowy flows that form up in passing
the instruments to be used
have already been honed and fashioned
where the hurl has voice
and will create the patterned articulation
voice is vortex for the shower-song of now
and so the future melds into it, in passing
pronouncement is above the background hum
ever oral, lips of the past
shape-shifting the future
into and by these sounds of the now . . .
