or a celebrity, for the journeys it takes,
the stories it tells
or to be a great historian.
Money doesn't care to be a lie detector
for what tense hands reveal.
Money doesn't pace or pause
nor personify from self-beliefs.
Money doesn't care to be the confidant
nor document the deals.
Money doesn't care to be the hostage in exchange
or a beast of joy, kept to give us peace of mind.
Money doesn't care to be the only child
nor be a gypsy life across ten thousand hands.
Money doesn't care to be charismatic,
tumbling in the wind is just fine.
and finally, money doesn't care
to be the sanguine mime
nor to be a laughing Buddha,
dressed in paper drag . . .
