the myth of objectivity * 12/1/13

There is the myth of objectivity,
yet science has always lobbied
insistently for the inference.
Logic has been janitorial in its service.
Capitalism always saw objectivity
as bringing its guests to a buffet.
Arguments would saddle up for the ride
in this country on the horse of their choosing.
Direct conversation attempts the dress up
as if we are going out to a formalism.
To me, the best traits of objectivity
are field in display and boundary maintenance.
Facts seem to be the temporal pawns in play.
Supposedly we have all been there
and been through all of that.
Humor preys upon it left, right, and center.
The upkeep of objectivity
is more than bothersome,
it is when the cosmetics of it take on character.
Of course, this is all in reference to objectivity
as the myth part seems to be established
at a later time in concept development.
It is as if our senses were naturally trained
and then further developed
to be under the reign or siege of objectivity.
Sadly our senses eventuated towards certitude.
Objectivity is inclined to order from the menu.
Is objectivity a thing we can take to the bank
or more of a ‘we agree to agree’ phenomenon?
Maybe objectivity is myth
because ‘the feet of clay’ about this
is the style of isolation it is as myth
for being falsely fundamental
and yet feeding expectations.
Objectivity’s formal attire is as an answer,
but nobody really wants a statue
as a best friend.
You can’t hurt me with details
but you can slander me with premise.
What lawyer would not pursue the sleaze
of objectivity sooner or later?
Look! Could it be an objective ship
sailing on a subjective sea
attempting to learn navigational skills?
Determining sanity is the tarot of objectivity.
Is mything really only a piggyback skill set?
Myth and objectivity are strange bedmates.
The worst of it is that
we are the illegitimate offspring,
living objectivity as if it were alive!
