Now is not on the clock.
No second hand is swift enough.
We don’t have a shutter speed to cognition
to be even close to capturing
the presence of now.
Now is a name given to a place
we can’t go but always wear.
It is our hologram without an identity.
It is the mitten that we have on the mind
that can’t be lost
but also cannot be found.
Now is the bible that can’t be reread.
As fast as you could possibly go
in a vehicle of your choice can give you,
it is an invitation to an event
you cannot attend because,
worst of all,
it does not exist in mediums
we choose to experience directly.
Now is so slippery
that the real practical discovery
we can astutely make,
is that the term slippery
does not really apply.
Now is all we got or we got nothing
is fundamentally true and baffling.
We thrive in the refuse of now
and feel rich and rewarded.
We could give now the key to the city
with great pride and admiration
and there will be no acceptance speech.
We could try hairsplitting.
We could try deep analytics of exactitudes,
any drug of your choice,
a guaranteed win of the lottery
every time method applied,
and not even nudge a now in response.
Now is a God of full presence
we can only adore.
It is a God of isness and absence.
For us, equally the same.
Look and study this:
bow, cow, how, low, mow, now,
row, sow, tow, vow, wow, yow.
Consider it to be a line up.
Which one of these animated characters
have you never met,
nor are you likely ever
to be consciously in the presence there of?
