the technique of emptiness * 11/8/13

Start anywhere.

Anywhere is a somewhere.

Become completely aware of this somewhere.

Then, become aware

of how your awareness works.

Become further aware of how

you are aware of how.

Become deeply aware of how aware works.

And then, become further immersed

in the properties of these works

that get ‘notice’ beyond being aware.

Get the sense of sensing

and then you, being a participant

in those properties of work,

go beyond what notice would get you.

Be a commingled participant so much so

that retrieval become second hand to being of, 

what originally was to be the study there of.

There can be no separation, as a sense of it.

To go there, is to give up

or relinquish observation,

to abandon any sense of separatism.

There is no one left to identify,

since identification is inoperable.

You have left behind, all the attributes

of search, inquiry, cognition, understanding,

to be with and an inseparable party to

what you, at the beginning called,

“a somewhere of interest”.

All of that has become a wardrobe,

surrendered along the way.

Even most interim positions, along the way, 

have been surrendered for a deeper emptiness, 

full of what is unknown and unknowable

at the initial inquiry level.

What initial inquiry is about is

almost all reflective of your being’s

initial wherewithal, brought to inquiry

as eventually a self-reflective means

of surrender to an unknown

in previously unknowable ways

of letting go, to be.

The consciousness has to give way

to more fundamental means

than experience has previously provided for.

The journey has no rendering.

Expectations working with conceptions

are presently abandoned forthright.

Immersion may have no memory partnership 

or residuals to give back.

You can never return

from one second to the last with carriage.

All is dedicated to manifest

without recoil, recount, reciprocity or reward. 

And if you go, there is an energetic trail 

amongst the enormity of trails

in constant express.

If someone else follows you,

they too have had a capacity

for alchemical love and the full presence

of surrender to do so.

Once there, we are already there.

There is no bringing back of anything.

It is an expanding universe

beyond sensory account or demand.

The full spectrum is there

and we, right now,

are full of the emptiness of that

but massively preoccupied within

a limited self-imposed range

that we, as a collective

of the separateness of us, as ‘we’,

call reality and insularly preoccupy ourselves 

with and about.

As we, from the collective unified ‘we’,

so slowly and deliberately pursue

the grand techniques of emptiness,

one nanosecond of presumption at a time,

yet we are ever drawn and building

towards that deep embrace,

that oneness, that energetic truth,

that we, the separateness of us, as ‘we’, 

call the universe . . .
