emotionality * 4/1/12

Emotionality is

not a results-based activity.

We were not born that way.

But we are highly trained

and this is intensely repeated

most of our lives as such.

This is as if

any moment can be drained

of essence before our eyes

and filled with meaning

and course and context

as if reaction to the world

is our first priority.

And what was original

from within to manifest,

may be left inside

as somewhat muted

or privately kept as put away.

You see this compounded in kids,

by both the innocence of being

and the success of their training,

as they burrow inwardly

yet borrow meaning

for social exchange.

We see it all the time

in singers,

where we want to hear

emotionally displayed hearts

and souls revealed by song.

But so many times,

we get verse and precision,

lyrics and account.

Even in the most intimate

of relationships,

rules abide

as to what to share,

and what is not acceptable

from an emotional

presenting perspective.

We will all go to the grave

partially emotionally opened

and partially emotionally

concealed and unrealized.

In our private review,

for all that we

could have wanted

to share and care,

but we didn’t and don’t.

The emotional energy

is always coming forth

in the moment

but hardly of the moment,

for it is layered

with contingencies and recoils

and subterfuge

and misrepresentations

to suffice for the audience,

and I do mean the audience,

even of ourselves, at hand.

The rarities of emotional richness,

empathies, empathic states,

as deep wells of connectivity,

are infrequent,

often taken as depiction

rather than engagement

and thus shared.

But there is a worth of immersion

in each of us

to be emotionally sourced

and communal

as the basis for an energetic truth

that goes beyond the meaning

that words would have us believe . . .

We live to source

and share from there.

That place within

is so close to home for all of us.

It is as a oneness recognized.

Emotionality is

our one common shared brain

that lives as us,

as all of us, together,

outside of time . . .
