The time before time

Any concept is first a mirror

made of assumptions.

They reflect an unsaid endeavor.

They are the under belly

of rigor towards cause.

They are a mind weave

laid down by repetition as sacred.

There are assumptions layered

upon deeper assumptions.

Inquiry is more like a strip tease,

loitering at the obvious

until the applause of boredom

begets a deeper layer exposed

where by connections

from above and across are made.

Holding to a composition format,

Something is to be gotten

and possibly achieved.

The first issue of thought

is not content itself

but the method of thought

of itself as exemplary and mentor.

Therefore time before time

does sound like a deconstruction

yet it is not.

If we ventured to time before time

would we care to return?

Is there a bleacher seat

held in reserve for a return?

Is the seat of the journey

circular or reciprocal

or even sacrilegious as rhetorical?

Is thought sacred

because of the rules implied?

Is a concept a search?

If every moment is as rich as the last

then is it the lust of the searcher

in the form of ignorance embraced

to further the journey?

Is lower mind an agreement

of permission spent in absent ways?

Time before time may ask for

a transcendence beyond temporality.

How is that reportable?

Time before time as an inquiry

may not be mind lead.

Understanding seems to be

a consensual drag

to its own existence.

How is understanding as a method

justified by numbers or agreement?

Time before time is a bait

for understanding to volunteer.

Understanding may be an initiation

rather than a presence of knowledge.

Maybe time before time

has no relative worth

and therefore no method.

In a world of differentiation

and individuation and objectification,

time before time has no takers.

Even joyless joy has audience

and presence.

Time before time maybe

a run-on sentence of the mind

as thought is script

and consciousness is the reader.

What if, time before time . . .
