The snow pack of life

An avalanche brings the visible solid

into a freefall mystery of light in flight.

We are ourselves, by our daily lives,

always leaving a snowflake trail

throughout the accrued snow pack

of our lives.

We are also our own trackers

and self-researchers

attempting to decipher

what this all means

living layer upon layer

with yet still unapproachable solutions

to our personal avalanche history.

The discernment, though bountiful

in dedication to observation and details,

still provides every moment

with records of internal seismic activities,

tremors, quakes, and slides

and the anointments in passing

that we personalize into awareness

by the carve, chisel, and blast studies

of our own snow pack passage.

For all of the behavioral layers

we lay down as our embodiment

with its full weathering animation,

by memory, trauma,

and conditioning,

through the unconscious strength

of our habits in ritual persistence,

we are still the longings to express

our mountainous essence of spirit

that we are as beings.

For that which defies the obvious

of context, content,

and our rational construction,

is a deeper refined search

towards spirit as mountain

rather than avalanche as end result.
