assumption of river

Any river has eddy-spins,

small turbulences unto themselves,

swirls if you will

that account for clashes of current,

face to face and butts to butts

pivoting as it were.

Enough so that these localized events

appear ever so slightly up facing

to the surface

and therefore noticeable.

These water filled helixes

become identifiable

and as such

take on a life in our thoughts.

And we . . . in our recognition

become metaphorical bathers

in our own streams of consciousness

thinking ourselves as to be like rivers.

And by our own self-consciousness,

eddies also form in our lives . . .

as small turmoils of themselves.

Swirls of contradiction will come

and by degree, exist

and therefore,

as scale is an assumption of space,

we are ourselves,

are an assumption of river.
