Riding on the edge

Riding on the edge, (?)

where an unseen formation

of sharp disturbing focus is . . .
undercutting the familiar,
displacing backdrop’s ambient fade,
introducing either extra appendages

or extra parts
but no extra time?
For the fluid juggle of life

is interrupted by breakage potential!
Thought your life was juggling solids?
But instead . . .

though still only three;

now . . . a kitten that weeps,
an open quart of sour skim milk
whose intermittently seepage feels

like a bizarre car wash flashback

and . . . a gold neck chain

with broken fastener
that seems grasp slippery

and yet snake-like fearful in the air!

Sure complain all you want
as long as it does not distract

from your concentration.
So go adrenal.
Broaden your gaze.
Prepare to stage freight flip out frozen.

At the next break in the action,
fill like a water balloon

and acknowledge your apparent fate.

Well, is it you

or the situation you are in (?)
that has become so razor sharp?

I am imagining a compromise perception
is coming your way.

Go ahead be frank with yourself

in your friendly expletive manner.

Find that delivery voice
that so gets your self in attention.

Here it is.

Here is that all so important phrase!
“Love sucks . . .

the death out of you!
give it some light
and breathe . . .”
