Karma keeps it to a whisper

maybe karma rarely vocalizes

the work that it does

it may appeal

only to the subconscious

until enough attention

is drawn down

so that maybe

an image might emerge

a reactive feeling maybe seen

as over-amped

a condition repeats itself

over and over

until the mind,

in exclamation, states

“what don’t I get?” out loud

with some degree of angst

in tones

that could be used to say

“why me?” instead

surely there are

inadvertent remarks made

which may seem out of context

or basically overheard

being said to another

that sink right in

but don’t consciously register

oh they will return

to source base eventually

they will surely surface

as in a dream

some surly, odd,

improbable means

will bring it home again

and then, probably again

karma may not

ever say something so direct

only an ‘aha’ at gunpoint

may do that job

and who of self

is there to listen?

as in, “whoa,

what just happened there?”

if the whisper ever gets close

to being a chorus

then maybe you are having

a near-death experience

in an attempt

to speed up the process!

karma may work within symbols

but does not directly correlate

to symbols

that ‘eye for an eye’ stuff

may have religious

and/or emotional carriage

but it does not spiritually translate

very directly

look, try giving a gift of equal value

for what you will receive

not knowing what your gift is

welcome to the world

of ‘same difference’

if you can figure out

what that means

karma really needs no prompting

it is usually humming in or near

the self/spirit engine room

no matter how distracted

you can claim your life to be

really, no need to address directly

as if you are in command

worse than a bloodhound

karma can and will track you down

what that really means

is that there maybe little logic

or understanding

as negotiable about it

karma as the big picture stuff

can fit into the smallest

of self-episodes

it is like an incessant dance card option

you can be asked and refused

you can be asked again

and still refused

but you will be asked again

and again

until you don’t refused

and you will dance

even if you are

metaphorically tone deaf

and foot clumsy

about the whole thing

well, it isn’t like you don’t know

any of the steps

its just that karma/trauma

can rip to the essence

right out from within you

in its access way

and present you

with a deep learning disability

that you didn’t really know

you actually had

karma is kind that way

in which it is endearing

it knows better than salmon do

where the birth of it took place

and what will have to be done

to return there

even after lifetimes

of ‘at sea’ existence

the call will come

the draw will pull

the dream will surface

the reverse yearning to avoid

will cease

and the whisper will pronounce itself

unto you

and that karma

will keep it to a whisper

( a whisper that only you can hear)
